Scorton Installation |
With only four weeks notice that he would be at the helm Martin Swarbrick did a wonderful job in installing Ian Henderson as the WM of Scorton Mark Lodge No. 1103. |

Until the fateful telephone call Martin thought he would be having an easy time as the IPM, but circumstances meant that he was pressed into action as WM. |
Principal guest on the evening was Giles Berkley who later commented very favourably on the work of Martin. Giles was accompanied by many grand and acting provincial officers who were all under the watchful eye and careful ministrations of deputy provincial DC Arthur Robinson. |
Members of the “Cambridge Crew.” |
One of the most pleasing aspects of the meeting was the fact that it was a Cambridge team, (they were all “light blue”), that took up all the progressive offices in the lodge. It was great to see, with about a dozen of them re-entering the lodge after the inner workings. |
But I digress, getting back to the ceremony. John Nelson conducted the address to the overseers as well as presenting the working tools which were both done with great accomplishment. |

Provincial senior warden David Rigby was called upon to address the wardens as to their duties and did so with great aplomb. |
Callum Taylor Mulhearn and Giles Berkley |
Giles continued the high standard of ritual as he orated the address to the brethren in a delightful manner. He also had the responsibility of explaining the Grand Mark Lodge certificate to Callum Taylor Mulhearn. After the meeting it was a nice touch to see Giles present Callum with a Mark tie. |
Following the formalities of the ceremony a very tasty meal, the menu being chicken, was enjoyed by 43 members and their guests. |
Grand and acting provincial officers |
Hard working secretary Bob Tinsley, as if he didn’t have enough to do, took to the floor and filled the room with his dulcet baritone voice as he sung the Master’s Song. |
With a candidate proposed on the evening Ian will be guaranteed some work in his year of office. |
